Part 1: Mining for War – Intro Dagar.

The mayor of Boggsgate has problems… He feels sick, the festival is coming up, the miners are late for their monthly pickup and his wife who never liked his son wants his him out of the house. Plagued with massive headaches he catches two bird with one stone by sending his son to the mining camp.

When Dagar leaves the house a man with a swollen lip and a black eye presses a letter in his hands he needs to deliver to the lady of the house. Bearing a grudge against his stepmother, he keeps the letter.

Later that day he is called to his father’s office and send to the mining camp. Accompanying him on the trip are Mitch the stablehand to handle the horse and wagon, and the daughter of the healer who needs to collect herbs that grow near the mine.

It takes the rest of the day and a part of the evening to ride to the camp. Arriving at the camp things seems amiss. The usual fire is not burning, the miners are gone.

Searching for the missing miners they enter the mine. Exploring the first tunnel they find war machines.  Entering deeper into the mine they get attacked by undead creatures. Fighting for sanity and their lives they destroy the undead creatures. Still looking for the missing miners they find Arno, the boss of the camp. He is wounded and has lost a lot of blood. Urging Dagar to find his men he fumbles to get something out of his belt pouch but before he manages to get it he dies. Folded in the pouch is a map. A map with plans for an attack on the kingdom of Harrol.

In another side tunnel they find a weapon cache. Going deeper into the mine they encounter a wall of darkness, the sound of shuffling feet and low moaning are heard but nobody can see through the darkness. Dagar, in a fit of braveness, steps through the wall and gets hit by something and falls to the ground.

Dagar is near death when his patron re-establishes the bond that was forged years ago and sends him back to guard his companions who have a part in what is about to happen. When Dagar opens his eyes his eyesight is better and a white and green slender snake is wrapped around his wrist.

When the darkness dissipates they finds a new weapons cache stamped with the name Hog & Coort – Palindra. The weapons are of an unknown kind but Mitch has seen their use the night before. With a little bit of tinkering he finds out how to use them.

Dagar with his new eyesight finds a hidden tunnel where they find two empty cages. In a corner of one of the cages they find a necklace made of animal teeth. Some as big as a pinky. The tunnel also has an exit to the outside. Here, with the information on the map and the weapons found, they make a decision.
