Part 5: Bonds.

The farm is taken over and the women are freed. Out of thankfulness Gru Fasot gives everybody a necklace with two animal teeth. She tells that the teeth are enchanted and that when they break one it will transform them into a wolf, a rat or a crow for an hour. She also says that the time has come to get her the clans women back to the clan. They will take a few hours rest and then leave for the mountains and they like to take Maxwell with them for extra protection. Maxwell agrees and heads off to get some sleep.

In a cage outside of the farm house Gil held an orc man. Now freed from his cage he sees Timor. As the rider of Timor’s mother, queen of the Worg, he demands the pup back. An emotional discussion ensues between the orc and Ashera. That is stopped when Gru Fasot reprimands the orc and tells him something in their language. The only thing Ashera understands is the title Goth-ob Barom. The Orc then takes a step back and bows before Ashera. He promises her that before they leave he will perform the bonding ritual between her and Timor.

Some of the women prepare for the journey, others take all the sleep they can get, when the orc male asks Ashera to come to the forest and perform the bonding.

In a glade Ashera ties her horse down and she is taken to the middle of the glade. There the orc sits her and Timor down and then the ritual begins. After the bonding the orc gives Ashera a necklace where Timor can remain in case it is needed. After she tries that once Timor doesn’t want anything to do with that anymore. Returning back at the farm the women are ready and start their journey back to their clan. After saying goodbye to Maxwell and the orcs, Dagar, Mitch and Ashera enter the farmhouse to get some sleep.

Early in the morning Timor wakes them warning that there is a rider near. They sneak out of the farmhouse and enter the stable where they mount their horses. In the meantime Dagar has send out Ragassa, the pet snake he got from his patron Magaia. Ragassa scouts the surrounding and spots the lone rider. Because it’s only one rider they scare him of and then run as fast as the horses can handle the other way, back to Boggsgate.

On the way back they pass the Geallens farm where they make a short visit and Dagar hassles with the farmer over the price of lamb for the Kronor’s Eve festival.

Back in the village, Dagar finds out that the abbot has send one of his monks to take the mayor to the monastery. Ashera finds out that Holand is attacked by the towns guard and is now hiding at the bakers house. And Mitch gets a surprise when he finds his brother Peter in his house, flirting with Kat.

Peter leaves towards the inn complaining about the mess and the bad state the house is in.

Mitch is called to the stables as an elder man with a horse and a basket of pigeons needs his horse stabled and his pigeons feed while he gets an chamber at the inn. Before he goes to the inn the old man first makes a visit to the mayors house. There Dagar has just been thrown out of the house by Masheth under the guise of Dagar being a magic user and him leaving the house while his father is sick. Dagar commands Ragassa to hide in his father’s office while he finds a silent spot where he can listen to the conversation via Ragassa. He rushes into Mitch’s house and runs upstairs telling Kat he forgot something this morning. When he focusses on Ragassa he hears that ‘someone’ is about to return. Masheth is upset and tells the man that she is doing as she is ordered. The man is not impressed and tells her that he has a basket of pigeons for her so she can update that person herself.

Searching for the pigeons Dagar finds them with Mitch and Ashera in the stables. Dagar explains where the pigeons will be used for and that they need to get rid of the birds, when Mitch promptly feeds the birds to Timor. Who is very happy and tells Ashera how much he likes pigeons.

Then the Royal Chamberlain Pascale comes on an uninvited visit to the village. When he asks for the mayor Ashera directly points at Dagar. Dagar orders Baraskur the innkeeper to prepare a good meal and a room for the chamberlain. And while they toast on a good journey Dagar learns that the chamberlain is here to make preparations for the visit of the Grand Duke Carrel to Boggsgate. His stomach drops when Dagar hears this news. The rest of the day Dagar assists he chamberlain and tries hard to keep Masheth away from him. Ashera heads for her house where she works on the new recipe for a better healing potion. And Mitch is cleaning his house so he can celebrate Kat’s birthday later that eve.

The sunsets over Kronor’s peak and night is falling.

DM-note: Did you ever experience: someone makes a joke but because you equipment garbles up you don’t hear it and now everybody is laughing his ass of and you don’t have a clue 🙂 Well that happend just as Mitch fed the pigeons to Timor. A 5 min laughing session ensued and each time I said pigeon they started to laugh more. That’s when I decided to not use a WiFi headphones anymore. Seems my sounds is clearer too.
