From the Book of Chigarius
Coucncilor Jarro has arrived. The enemy keeps blocking the portal to Shoglatage. Which makes it hard to travel to other portals. The General orders a staff meeting in the war room. Councilor Jarro has bad news. The Miat, the elven council of 8 clans has broken up and 5 of the 8 clans have left Mirias to sail oversees to new lands. This means that the remaining clans can’t send more help and have a harder time to defend Mirias. Orc commander Grawlock acknowledges that Ravensdale has fallen and general Hussmen is on the retreat.
During the meeting the General was very focused on acquiring knowledge about the enemy, but why the smithy needed to be present is a bit of mystery to me.
Half way the meeting the alarm sounded. From the portal came another attack. Captain Wellston plunged himself into the enemy and started hacking them to death. We thought we would be safe in the warroom but from outside we heard Captain Thursil shout about an assassin. And then suddenly the creature was inside the warroom and attacked Councilor Jarro. Before we could take a breath he was gone. The General and captain Thursill came running in. When I looked around I saw the assassin standing behind our surgeon a wicked looking blade held against his throat. The General also must have seen him because I hear his weapon go off with a loud bang. This did not help our poor surgeon because before he disappeared he cut the surgeon throat. How I do honor the General because without thinking he jumps over the table and started to administer a healing draft saving our surgeon from death.
But the threat wasn’t over. Before I knew it the assassin was back but I now noticed that the shot from the General wounded him severely. What happened next I could not see because Commander Grawlock jump
infront of me. But from what I understood we owe our lives to Captain Thursils great marksmenship. We found the faul spawn dead in the Generals office. Upon investigation the captain found a ring, that the wizards said was cursed.
But there wasn’t much time because during the attack of the assassin the Crowsnest spotted big flying creatures dropping of hordes of goblins near the High Gate. And from the forrest an army of goblins with trolls was decending on the Low Gate.
I have spoken with the captain of the High Gate after the fight. From his mouth I report what happened at the High Gate.
The Crowsnest had reported big flying creatures ascending on the mountain. And we opened the gate to get a good look and man the ballista’s. But then one of those beast came close and we saw that it was carrying lots of goblins. They jumped of its back. They came floating down hanging from big pieces of cloth. In the meantime shooting me and my men. We retreated back into the mountain. But then a horde of goblins was already at the gate. We fought them every inch but they outnumbered us. I was fighting two, three at the time when hen they broke through the left flank and it was in that moment the General and the Captains entered. The General killed the goblins that where on me with that strange shooting sword he carries. Then Captain Wellston stepped in and used his sword Ice. The ground before the gate was layered in ice and hail as big as eggs pelted the horde that was closing in on the gate. And when Captain Thursil stepped in the battle changed in our favor. From his bow it rained arrows. That in midflight changed into nasty thorns shredding through the horde of goblins. We would have had a much harder time if these brave men didn’t step in. We killed them all. Let that be a message to those evil beasts. No not of them will set a foot on this mountain without feeling our wrath.
And although we still have to face the advancing horde at the Low gate men are in high spirit. With these brave souls we have a change on defeating this evil.
